Melmark welcomes you
to the 2006 Schoemaker Classic Auction which will be held on
Monday October 30, 2006
at the Waynesborough Country Club in Paoli, PA.
The Live and Silent Auctions help to raise funds that support Melmark resident and client services throughout the year. Valued supporters of Melmark have donated collectibles, products, and services to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The fun and excitement of the preview and bidding activity is open to everyone through Proxy bidding. You do not need to attend the auction to be a winner! Proxy bidding permits guests to place bids in hopes of being the highest bidder. Proxy bidding activity is open through 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 30, 2006. Winning bids will be announced at the end of the Live Auction on Monday, October 30. For more information on proxy bidding and how to submit a bid, refer to the Bidding Rules below. Supporters of the auction are local businesses and individuals who make donations as a way of expressing their support for Melmark.

Proxy Bidding and Silent Auction Rules
· Proxy bidding is available from October 2, 2006 through 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 30, 2006.
· Your bid constitutes a contract to buy and you must be at least 18 years of age to bid.
· You may submit your proxy bid by fax at (610)325-2929, or by email at auction@melmark.org using the forms provided above. Bids will be marked and accepted in order of the date and time received.
· When making a bid by proxy, you must also register your credit card with Melmark
at the time you submit your proxy bid. Proxy bids will only be accepted if
accompanied by your valid credit card information.
· You must be the highest bidder to win. For most items there is the opportunity to buy the item by meeting the "Buy Now Option" price listed next to the item. If you are the first confirmed bidder to offer the "Buy Now Option" price, you will be awarded the item and that item will be removed from the auction.
· All items that have not been purchased with the “Buy Now Option” by October 30th at 10:00 A.M., will be included in the Live/Silent Auction on October 30th. At that time, the opening bid for all available items will be the highest “Current Bid” that was registered on the website as of 10 A.M., October 30th.
· Payment and pick up is expected immediately following the auction. If you are present,
payment in full by cash, check, MasterCard, or Visa is required for your items by
the end of the auction. If not present and bidding by proxy, payment in full will be
charged to your MasterCard or Visa.
· All winners who are not in attendance will be notified by telephone on Wednesday, November
1, 2006.
Winners must claim their items by November 7, 2006 at Melmark.
· All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds on auction items are permitted.
· Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash.
· The bidder is financially responsible for the use of his or her name on all bid sheets.
· All items are sold “as is.” The item descriptions are as accurate as possible. Melmark, Waynesborough Golf Club and the Schoemaker Classic Committee cannot be held responsible for any
discrepancies that may occur.
· All items offered are to be used as described and within the specified dates and times.
Tax Deductibility
Bid amounts in excess of estimated value may be tax deductible as a charitable
contribution. All or part of your winning bid may be applicable as a business expense. Melmark
suggests you consult a tax professional. |
