Mission

The mission of Melmark is to serve children, adults and their families affected by a broad range of developmental disabilities. We provide evidence-based, educational, vocational, clinical, residential, healthcare and rehabilitative services, personally designed for each individual in an environment of warmth, care and respect.

Our goal is to help each individual served have a meaningful life and attain the highest possible level of personal growth and achievement. We strive to develop the intellectual, emotional, social and physical aspects of each individual by providing a wide range of activities, opportunities and challenges. We partner with families to define and implement appropriate goals for each child or adult served.

We are committed to a solvent, efficient, proficient and comprehensive service delivery system. Our yearly strategic planning articulates goals and expectations for each department of the organization. As an organization we are committed to an environment that recognizes excellence in staff performance and works to create a culture that captures discretionary effort by every level of employee through mutually positive employment practices.

We actively raise funds to provide the safest, most aesthetic and well-equipped environment to enhance the everyday quality of life for those we serve.

Vision

The vision of Melmark is to be a center of excellence for all services we provide in all locations we provide them. This concept of excellence will continue to drive all decisions we make. Our services will always be evidence based, best practices designed and validated by recognized leaders in the field. Growth will always be predicated on our ability to assure service excellence.

We will be increasingly known nationally and internationally for the effectiveness of our educational, clinical and staff training models. We will continue to generate and disseminate new knowledge via multi-media publications and presentations. We will be a resource from whom providers around the globe can seek training. We will always be “The Home That Love Built” in all aspects of what we do.

Melmark supports community-based residential options offering external social, recreational, volunteer, and occupational opportunities for children and adults.

Individualized Planning and Customized Programs

Melmark recognizes and supports the dignity of each individual. Programs, goals and services are created to meet each person's needs, abilities, and interests.

Rapid Progress and Outcomes Tracking

Melmark's goal is to challenge each individual to develop skills and grow as much as possible. Flexible plans are put in place for each individual, outlining specific educational, therapeutic, and social goals. Ongoing progress reviews ensure that goals are updated and modified as needed.

Partnership with Families

Melmark's parents and families are invited and encouraged to partner with our caring and professional staff, and serve as equal members of the multi-disciplinary team.
