For Children & Young Adults
Melmark offers a comprehensive range of health-related services including Speech and Language, Physical and Occupational Therapies. Following the Individualized Education Program (IEP)/Individualized Support Plan (ISP) process, services are integrated into the classroom or provided directly to students. Other campus based services include therapeutic horseback riding, animal-assisted activities, adaptive physical education, aquatics instruction and recreation.
The Melmark School’s integrated service delivery model includes working with students and staff both on Melmark’s campus and in the community. It includes direct services and the training of staff in support of a student’s independence and growth.
A behavioral framework is used to assess, prescribe, implement and reassess the delivery of Speech and Language, Physical, and Occupational Therapies and other ancillary services in the educational setting. All services provided follow best practices guidelines.
Proven Treatments Benefit Each Student
Rehabilitative services at The Melmark School (and in other Melmark programs) are prescribed in support of educational goals. The Melmark School’s educational staff and rehabilitation services team work collaboratively in the development of evidence-based treatments that will benefit each student served.
