Since 1970, The Joybells, Melmark’s handbell choir, have performed regularly at churches, schools, and colleges, as well as corporate and community events. They have also performed at venues across the country, including a gubernatorial inauguration in Pennsylvania and three White House events. Led by two professional musical directors, choir members with developmental disabilities use a variety of handbells, chimes, and percussion instruments in their varied repertoire of sacred, classical, popular, and patriotic selections.
